About Sagarmatha National Park
The park covers about 1,148 km² of high mountains, glaciers and valleys, home to the Sherpa people and to wildlife such as the Himalayan tahr and snow leopard. Namche Bazaar, Tengboche Monastery and the Gokyo Lakes are all inside the park.
Trekkers to Everest Base Camp and the Three Passes need a park entry permit, available in Kathmandu or at Monjo.
