About Chitwan National Park
Visitors usually stay in Sauraha on the park edge and explore by jeep safari, canoe on the Rapti River and guided jungle walks. The park protects sal forest and grassland and is one of the best places in Asia to see the greater one-horned rhinoceros.
Sauraha is about 5 to 6 hours by road from Kathmandu or Pokhara, and about 30 minutes from Bharatpur, which has the nearest airport.
