About Bandipur
The town grew as a trading stop on the old India–Tibet route, and its 18th- and 19th-century houses, temples and cobbled bazaar have been carefully kept. Short walks lead to the Tundikhel viewpoint, Siddha Gufa, one of the largest caves in Nepal, and the Thani Mai temple for sunrise.
Bandipur is about 8 km up a side road from Dumre on the Kathmandu–Pokhara highway.
